HYDE EBRIGHT

A lot of my inspiration for this collection is from the Midwest. We are infamously known as the rust belt region, where corporate America has left our community to decay. We were once the center of manufacturing and booming industry, but with change came the cost of our families, our homes, and the environment. The people of the Midwest are hard workers, family oriented, and community driven. When sketching and finding inspiration for this collection, I looked at brands like Carhartt, that are based in the Midwest. I found inspiration in graffiti, abandoned buildings, and rust all as examples of the history and effect of Corporate America on us. My my use natural dyes, dead stock fabric, and banners are representations of using your resources and making do with what you have, like most people in the midwest do. I chose a workwear hiker-wear blend of silhouette because we are also travelers, adventurists and people hiking for their dreams.
